I am trying to play Thief which runs but has issues keeping up with the game

That is why I am looking to upgrade it, the processor and the graphics don't meet the recommended according to systems lab requirements.

the processor doesn't? It's a 4 core 3.0ghz proc... wtf are the min requirements.

Should be just the video card. Use this site to help you choose a video card.

google 'thief benchmarks' and check out a few to see what cards may get you the performance you want.

oh well that's recommended. do you really want to shell out $2k for a new system?

maybe you should describe the exact problem you're having... your video card actually meets the min requirements for that game.

also you could just buy an xbox.

game is choppy, game does work its just hard to play a stealth game when the game is not smooth.

ah. you'll have to checkout the benchmarks to be sure, but it's probably video-card intensive as are most new games these days. i'd upgrade video card before doing a total overhaul that switching to an i7 would require.
