anyway, hm. yea, I have a hard time getting ashley into FPSs, but she loves guildwars, and I'm about to get her into nethack.

I think I might buy her oblivion eventually to bridge the gap to FPSs, and then it's on!
Closest I've gotten was Mario Kart, NFL Blitz, and The Sims.

nfl blitz is a good start! mario kart is fun to do together, sims doesn't count.

try harder! If she can play nfl blitz she probably has plenty of situational awareness to handle most RPGs

Running foward and hitting dive immediatly does not equate awareness. Remember, you can run without going offsides in that game. She was athe sack master because of that.
