Since I know there is a significant TX contingent on this board I thought I might ask for some tips. The wifey and I are thinking about flying down to Houston on the week between Christmas and New Year's, and making our way north to Oklahoma City in a rental during that week and flying out of there. We have family in both Houston and OKC we wanted to visit. I was just wondering if there was anything/anyone worth visiting on the way between Houston and OKC. I don't know if we'd be able to make it over to Austin, and this trip isn't 100% guaranteed yet.

yea austin is 3 hours out of the way, plus the extra time you spend on i-35 in traffic. :(

i can't think of anything else on the way that's really cool. But i mean dallas has a shit-ton of stuff, and i'm sure there are some interesting sight-seeing things on 45. but unless you're coming to austin i don't know about anything personally.
