I need some help.
I've been out of the pc trouble shooting game far too long and I am having problems with my brand new work pc. It's an HP Compaq 6000 Pro with a 3 ghz intel pro 2core cpu and 2 gigs of ram. The display adapter is the onboard intel q45/q43 express chipset and it's running windows 7.
So the problem: randomly with no sembalence of a pattern, the pc will go black and restart. I checked to see if there was any consistant thing causing it and there is not. It will work fine in Safe Mode but that's not an effective way to work. I reinstalled teh graphics driver and it helped for a day or too.

Any one heard of this? Have any ideas?

It sounds like you're BSOD'ing with auto-reboot enabled.

So disable auto-reboot and see what BSOD error comes up and if it's the same one each time?
