I once read "The Great Gatsby". That utter piece of complete crap forever ruined me on 'classic' novels. Also the origional 'Dracula'. Fucker took like 8 chapters to do a fucking carriage ride. I now refuse to read anything written before the mid-1900's....thats when they finally started producing some decent sci-fy shit. I will give a small bit of credit to "the invisible man" and "frankenstein" though, those were both decent.

lawls. So far, reading it has turned me solidly pro-whaling. I don't give a shit if they all get killed off, I'll dance on the foamy red waves. I don't really think Moby Dick is pro or against whaling in general, but reading this made me spend many hours watching whaling youtubes, and reading about the various anti-whaling organizations. I also started watching a little Whale Wars, and recently got about an hour into the documentary on Paul Watson. I laughed super hard at him and his ideas. So stupid.

These rejects have all this knowledge and preach all this malarkey about evolution which very much includes survival of the fittest... but they expect it all to come to a halt with humans.

Why can't we survive at the expense of the whales? When their gone, the earth will either die a little bit more, or adapt. Either way, we are all on a planet that is unstoppably going from order to disorder, and we can't do a thing about it. Sure we can attempt to prolong it. But burning BILLIONS of tons of fuel (sea shepard runs on rainbows and happy songs?) to save the whales is a massive shit-lump of hypocrisy.

/soapbox.

yea, paul watson is an extremist; usually that's bad regardless of the cause.

all in all though, I do wish those crazy japs would just obey the international law.
