This internship will provide opportunities for the intern to assist TD AMERITRADE in its investigative use of Internet based virtual world technology (such as Second Life) for business purposes. The Intern will be involved in the design and implementation of a corporate presence in a virtual world for demonstration purposes. This Internship will be approximately 20 hours per week with the potential to work up to 40 hours per week during the summer months. This position pays $10/hour and does not provide benefits. EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE: -Position qualifications include experience with internet technologies and web programming. -Experience with LAMP, (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP) technologies and RPC-XML is a plus. -Experience with LSL (Linden Scripting Language) which is the language Second Life scripts are developed with is preferred. LSL is similar in structure to Java and C. -Good written and oral communication skills are required. |

I just had this epic dream where assrott, Hapy, Smith, my sister and I got into this company's huge building. We somehow swiped an ID card from an employee, and with company personnel bearing down on us, I entered the code in the box on the front door and we swiped the card to get in. Just after that, they shut the power off, but it was too late. We were already in. We all split up; Smith and Rott went along the main floor and Hapy bolted toward an enormous staircase. I followed him, and my sister followed me. We went to the roof, where some guy was having a smoke. We were like, what's up dude. There were dozens of cameras covering every angle on the roof. Hapy left, and my sister and I looked around. There were a couple of houses up there. There were periscopes where people could look out from the rooms below. It was also cold and snowy. Eventually, we were on one side of the roof where there was a really run-down house like my former neighbor's back home. We bored, and jumped down to the ground. For some reason the roof on that side was really low. Then we went into my parents' house, which was apparently adjacent to this company building somehow. I had found a hard drive somewhere along the way, and my sister had found a Batman figurine. My little brother asked where we got those things, and I'm like... I found it. It was supper time, and as we were getting ready to eat we looked out the window. What should we see but assrott and Smith taking on the company's softball team, 2v10. They were in the field at the time, assrott pitching and Neil playing straight-up second base right behind him for some reason, but I could see (somehow) that assrott had personally scored 60 runs. And it was pleasant and dry down there on the ground, not cold and snowy like on the roof. Smokin weed year. |
