I figured out that if you dont use auto pilot you can go a lot faster.

Just set a waypoint so you know which gates you need to use and manually warp to within 0m of the gate, that way you can jump almost instantly once you get there.
sounds like youre talking about instas. and yes they make i a lot faster. really need them traveling in 0.0 in something like a slow ass badger

no, he's not talking about instas.

with the recent patches, they added a "warp to location within 0km" option.

makes things a lot easier.

wtf is an insta?

Author:  dime [ Sun Apr 29, 2007 7:48 pm ]
Post subject:

an insta is a bookmark you created manually in space.

before the patches, the closest you could get to a point in space was 15km, so..

people flew 12-14km past stargates, stations, whatever and created a bookmark at that location.

next time they need to make a jump, they hit their BM, and boom. you warp in right on top of that stargate/station/asteroid.

Is there any way to remove shipwrecks from the long range scanner? All I want to see are regular ships but there are always like 100000 shipwrecks so its hard to sort through them all.

Also, where do you take dogtags to trade them for isk?

I never had a problem getting shot. I had my ship going 1000(speed). I don't remember the units.

Snack, do you have any money in game that I can have?

Answering lots of the above questions in detail:

dragon, the warp to 0km is very recent, they didn't have itbefore.

plutonium is used in POS, player owned space stations. Often people will buy it for mostly fair prices in trade hubs like Jita, but if you only have a little, might not be worth the flight. You can hang onto it and give it to a corp that you eventually join that needs it, or you can just sell it. I had about 10 units, and that's really a drop in the bucket for a POS.

You can remove shipwrecks from your scanner. Rightclick on them in the scanner, and choose the "remove" option. Unfortunately, that probably removes both empty and full wrecks, so when you're on a mission, it won't show which wrecks have shit in them.

What you'll want to do is at the top of your scanner overview thing on the right, go to the top and get into settings. You can save different load-outs for, say, traveling in empire, traveling in 0.0, mission running, mining, etc.

Or, you can just remove wrecks manually when you don't want to see them, and add them back manually when you do by click on one in space and choosing "add to overview"

So Im thinking about trying to rip somebody off by saying...

"I have a Navy Issue Caracal for sale, pm me best offer"

Then negotiating a price and taking the money then never giving a ship.

Would this work? Whats the best way to go about it?

Happy if you wanna get on my guy the login and whatnot is:

tehsnack
pw: lakeland211

I have that Destroyer that I'm flying, and a mining barge somewhere, you can't trade from my guy though because it's a trial. Maybe you could put them on the broker for like 1 ISK then log on your guy real quick and buy it.

Also I don't really remember where the barge is, but I'm sure there's a way that you could check it.

Also, conversely you could put something shitty on the broker for mad expensive, get on my guy and buy it, that'd be the only way I could think of transfering moneys.

GLHF.

i have a clone in Jita, caldari space, main trade hub. I mission run there, but right now I don't have a ship.

I also have a clone in mimitar space, the outskirts, in Osvestmunner. I mine there, though I haven't bothered lately because there's more isk in 0.0.

lastly, i have a clone in 0.0, g-d0n to be exact. have my battlecruiser there along with my hauler and two frigates. I rat hunt out there and tank for miners when they are willing to split the ore with me. Generally i'll idle out there, rat hunting is my favorite activity so far.

But currently, I'm in Jita selling off shit. I'm going back to beaumont tonight, so i'll be afk until tuesday, then I work on wednesday. When I get back, I'll sell off the rest of the shit and then jump back to 0.0 probably.

If you're on a trial account, mayhaps we can run some easy deadspace or missions together sometime. If you're buying back in, you should join the empire side of my corporation, they don't let you out to 0.0 without 4 or 5ish million skill points.

Though, if you know exactly what you want to make yourself useful in 0.0, you could train into it sooner and get them to make an exception. For instance, you could conceivably train into what i fly in 0.0 in only 5 and a half days, I have the plan for it right here.

All it takes is the program Evemon and some 0.0 savvy, which I have to a certain degree.

Catch me on xfire, we'll talk in vent if you want to do this.

p.s.
Dime has a clone in osvest and a clone in 0.0, same place as me.

So, pubing for fun, basicnally.

I figured it out. Eve can only be played casually (thus enjoyably) if you have 15 bucks a month to burn.

Just set skills training, play if you want to play, don't if you don't, come back and whatever, fly around, save up for your battle cruiser, blow up some bitches, join a corp, all while paying 15 bucks a month and forgetting it.

If you can't forget 15 bucks a month, then the game becomes too important and it ruins it.

Ok. So after training and training and being excited, I finally got into The Retriever, a mid-level mining barge. Better than any non-barge mining ship, and but on the low end of the barges them selves.

Anyway, I'm stoked, I'm seeing an easy way to make the isk I need to buy a battleship, which I can then fly around with and blow up NPCs with wild abandon. Plus, mining in the barge is pretty easy, can do plenty of alt-tabbing, reading email, getting up to piss, etc.

So I take it out and mine for an hour, almost to the dot. That includes taking the ship out, flying to the asteroids, mining and mining, then hauling the minerals in.

I took the ore, refined it, included what i got from blowing up NPCs along the way, and I made 1.6 million.

The battleship i want costs 90 million at the cheapest. So I guess in about 56 hours of mining, i can afford the battleship.

And if I"m not happy with that, I can suck it up, mine in that for another month and a half in order to fly the next best mining barge, and maybe I'll make 2.5 mil an hour or something with that.

Or I could just cancel my account. Again.
