Yes Agent "Enough with the Bullshit". You forgot to mention that the first round of that (with us as RU) we capped all 3 flags within the first couple minutes, so they just ended the map (no stats for anyone) and pushed to the 2nd round (with us play as US). They complained that it was because the teams were unbalanced, I whined, Agent just brushed it off. Then we soundly kicked their ass again and that's when we all got the banned stick. It was glawlyous. |

Quote: Video on use of SOFLAM with Javelins. Seems to be very good application there....also works with guided missles from planes/helos. Seems as though it still requires you to lock on, but benifits are:
Bumping this to the end of the forums given the number of times peoples have asked how to do laser designation crap over mumble in the last week...only addition is that some vehicle sha ve laser pointers too (that give laser locks like the SOFLAM, this would be helo's with 'laser designator' equipped by pilot, or people in the 3rd seat in a tank) and many vehicles have 'lock-on' weapons that unlock (tank guided shells, guided missles for helos/jets) and can grab laser designated locks. A) you don't need to see the target to lock on, B) it ignores flares/smoke, and C) you get a damage bonus for hitting with SOFLAM vs. normal locks. If you want to watch the 5 minutes of this other video, it just shows that the SOFLAM does keep doing designations in its' line of sight even if the operator isnt currently using it. The operator needs to connect to it to readjust its' aim if he wants, but active use at all times isnt necessary. Only things that break laser locks are getting out of Line of Sight of laser designator or use of "ECM Jammer" that unlocks for helos/jets. Also I think smoke of tanks/IFV/AA vics does same. |

OMFG: W makes you descend faster and S makes you slow down when parachuting. I've hated how fast I drop in the parachute and how I can't control it. Probably because I was holding down W the whole time trying to fly forward. (wasn't BC2 like that??) |

Yarp. You could influence it that way. No wonder. That sounds like something for BEEFTIPS. |

Figured that was common knowledge, but another one of those basic things I can write an article on. Even when you slow yourself down, you can't prevent forward movement with the parachute, so that is the main reason it's more difficult to land on a target than other BF games. Already have an article on when to deploy, but I can do another on how to control during long falls. |

Quote: From Dice:
So basically, this is what determines your skill level on your stats page: • You gain/loose SL based on every confrontation with another player • Killing a highly skilled enemy gives you more points than killing someone less skilled • Points are not transferred from a player to another, they are simply added/subtracted based on the encounter and the SL of both parts (thus, after an encounter, one part may go up 50 points while the other loses only 20) • The SL is used for matchmaking |

i don't think so. I'm assuming matchmaking is only if you click "quickmatch" i believe. Maybe also for co-op. |

Man, BF1942 was where it was at, for a variety of reasons. Downgrade, anyone? |

I think BF2 is still my favorite of them. But we can go back and install 1942 if you'd like. I'm sure there's one or two good 24/7 de_WakeIsland servers still running it.... |
