Turn the dial: The Royals will change the flagship station for their radio broadcasts starting next season. A five-year contract with Entercom Communications Corp., was announced with Kansas City station 610 Sports (KCSP) as the flagship.

"In the final analysis, Entercom-Kansas City was the most attractive suitor to carry the Royals on radio," said Kevin Uhlich, Royals senior vice president of business operations. "The play-by-play coverage on 610 Sports and the wide-ranging scope of the other seven stations in the market under the Entercom-Kansas City umbrella will afford us the unique opportunity to reach a full spectrum of listeners. We have also assembled a plan to work closely with the Entercom-Kansas City family to promote Royals baseball in a variety of methods, not only during the season, but in the winter months as well."

The contract calls for the 162-game regular season and a minimum of 20 spring exhibitions to be carried on 610 Sports, with the exception of Sunday games, which will air on News Radio KMBZ (980 AM).

The current flagship station for the radio network is WHB 810 in Kansas City.
