This game, lads.....this GAME.

I had a tl;dr description of my experiences so far with BC2 typed out, but I got so bored right now. Distillation: I had not heard of the game until Wednesday, promises of destructable stuff got my attention as I have a sick mania for collateral destruction, I looked at youtube movies and was amazed, got the game (thx to help from bros) and was blown away by singleplay on Friday, and have since been floored by high volumes of sheer awesome in online engagements.
I'm surprised you enjoyed the SP; I thought it was pretty terrible. It's like they took a couple of good things and all of the bad things from COD4's SP and then imitated them poorly.

If you pay reeeeal close attention, you'll notice they're making fun of COD4 half the time.

I noticed. The "background" dialog is one of the (few) things I thought they did pretty well. Unfortunately it doesn't make up for shoddy gameplay :/.

Whereas it was my introduction to the ability to destroy things, I was impressed. I agree; the experience itself was no better than COD4, and really similar in some ways. It also seemed very reminiscent of Crysis at certain times.

New Mumble Server:
dallas.murmur.nfoservers.com:3060

It uses 1.2.2 so the program itself has clearer voice, and even comes with built in ogg sounds. (so run mumble, not mumble backwards compatible)

It's a test server with NFO (the people i paid recently to continue to host our l4d2 server, hint hint.) If we like it, i'll add a mumble server to the bill.

I love ventrilo, but if it doesn't work for our heroes then we have to do something else. I'm also attracted to mumble's lower CPU usage. I still think the sound clarity is not as good with mumble, and that they have too many options and not enough tool tips.

GAME USES SONY SECUROM CONTENT PROTECTION TECHNOLOGY. (MORE INFO, INCLUDING HOW TO UNINSTALL SECUROM, AT http://WWW.SECUROM.COM). GAME CAN BE PLAYED ON UP TO FIVE COMPUTERS; USERS CAN MANAGE WHICH COMPUTERS ARE AUTHORIZED OR DE-AUTHORIZED TO PLAY GAME.

Is this bullshit still valid if purchased via steam? If it is then they can lick ma bawls.

It's probably there on Steam. The disk version lets you choose IIRC. You can use a disk check all the time or you can do the online auth with no disk check.

we should make a list of our bc2 names so people don't have to find us outside the game prior to playing with us.

Hey, here are some of the fixes I found in all my graphic problem searching:

Go to your "my documents" folder, find BFBC2 folder and open it.
Inside you'll find a file called system.ini (I think)
open in a text editor and change the following lines:

"Directx=auto" change to "Directx=9". The game tries to autodetect your directx version (from 11, to 10, to 9), but somehow fucks up a bunch in doing it. By forcing directx 9 it may slow your FPS a slight bit but should help stabilize.

Find the line "Bloom=true" and change to "Bloom=false". This was a big issue with a lot of graphics cards in the beta, don't know how true it is for the full version, but can't hurt stability.

Long time no game people.

So I buckled and just ordered this shit. I'm up at work so I have to wait until tonight to install it but I've been seeing enough of you on this, read how kick dick it was, and Brady's dumbass even told me it was epic so I'm in.

Expect serious noobage, lameness, and probably me being the reason you are dying or becoming frustrated as I become acclimated.

Butts.

Brandon

P.S. I am THOROUGHLY enjoying ME2 right now though so I'll probably be bouncing back and forth between these until I beat ME2... which granted shouldn't be too long considering how fucking awesome it is.
