in the spirit of new games, here's a quick trailer for borderlands, the cause of my perpetual three-month hardon.

granted, it's an xbox trailer.

i've been really looking forward to that game too but during the trailer the total lack of any expression on the heroes faces really jumped out at me.

guess l4d spoiled me.

also, total lack of plot and total focus on rampant slaughter of other people doesn't interest me much. i'll just go play fallout 3 or wolf3d or painkiller.

here's a better preview that actually makes it look like a game i'd buy:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sd3r8_I3 ... re=related
  • "drop in drop out 4 player co-op"
"keep the stuff you get if you join someone else's game"
"important for each class to play their role to survive"
"87 bazillion guns . . .hopefully keeps things interesting"
    "first person shooter"
    "wide open world"
"rewards for completing tasks and quests"

Wouldn't it be easier to say what they didn't fix?

I had fun with it, I finished it, and the ending confuses the living shit out of me.

If anyone would like to necro a game that a bunch of us got into a long time ago, Steam has the Company of Heroes series for half-price today. The original game is $9.99, and once you apply about a terabyte of patches, you can actually play in the same game as people who have both expansions (you just can't play as the extra countries introduced in the expansions, or something).

The expansions are also both half-price, $9.99 and $14.99.

Alright, that one showed up. At least I know I'm at my computer, the internet is working, and I appear to actually be logged into the crapyclawn forums.
