So apparently Sugar Land, TX (about 20min from the Juice Box) is building a triple A caliber baseball stadium for opening day in 2012. They do not currently have a team, but are looking for one. Here's what's kinda funny about it. - The Astros will most likely be losing the Round Rock Express, who's contract expires after this year, because Nolan Ryan became a major owner of the Rangers and his sons run the Express (and the Corpus Christi Hooks, but they have like three years left on their contract with the Astros). - The Astros have stated they want nothing to do with having a triple A team in Sugar Land. - Even with the above statement, they still have control of the area and will be blocking all other MLB teams from bringing a farm team to Sugar Land. This leaves Sugar Land with the option of bringing in an unaffiliated team which probably won't draw as much of a crowd as one associated with the Astros, or any major league team for that matter. I think this is dumb, especially since the stadium will literally be like 14min or less from my house, depending on traffic. |

Yeah, the Royals are already in first place as far as I'm concerned. I don't see anyone else's mascot in a TMZ story involving "steaming hot wieners." |

The 'Stros are starting out pretty stellar. Three hits last night: 2 doubles (one was a homer called back by video replay) by our part time infielder Keppinger and a single from Wandy who pitched 5 scoreless innings. |
