a shot doesnt always equal an ounce.

Yeah, with the shot glasses we have, I consistently get about 8 "shots" out of a beer. If that's bigger than your standard shot, I guess I'm more manly than your average man.

Well how big is the beer? If it's 12 oz. and you get 8 shots, then the shotglass is not 1 oz. Simple.

the definition of a shot is 1 oz

just because you pour more in the glass then is intended because maybe its not supposed to be filled to the brim

look up the definition of a shot for bartenders and such its 1oz

1 oz...more like 1 gallon. What I lack in size (3cm) I make up for in huge amounts of jizzy jizzm.

a shot is 1.5 ounces, make no bones about it.

some recipes call for 1 ounce. some shot glasses have an ounce marker.

But all shot glasses can hold 1.5 ounces of liquid.
