So I was chastized last night by Sabs for being a little bitch and never visiting the forums or posting here. Well....I don't have an excuse. I've got waaay too much time at work and nothing to fill it with that I certainly should be. But here's my random post anyway: So I'm at a non-lethal weapons training course for the army and getting to check out all their new shit they're testing out and trying to field. So today I got to stand in front of a what is essentially a big microwave the sends out a focused beam that instantly heats up all the water molecules in your skin and makes you feel like you're boiling alive. Fucking cool ass shit! Then we got to check out a new sound-denial system they have. It's really just about a 1.5 ft. diameter disc but works like a bigass speaker. Sends out REALLY loud annoying noise. You can actually feel the sound pressure within a good 100 yards of it and it'll throw off your equilibrium within about 200 yards. They tell us that it's capable of sending out sound waves of low enough frequency that it'll cause people to crap their pants (remember the south park 'brown noise' episode? Yeah, that shits real) or even stop someones heart. Also fucking cool as hell! We got to check out some other vehicle disabling things and a couple other toys (tasers and such) but those 2 are the really cool ones. There. That's my post. Now I'm contributing to the forum. Happy? |

actually I wasn't drunk when I wrote that. Granted, I've been drinking since, but I was stone cold sober....it helps my liver to do that every week or soAnd Assrott: Thank you for your diligent tax paying. It both provides me with a salary and gives me lots of new toys to play with! With a little bit of luck I may have a chance in the future to use some of this shit on other people who are much more diserving of the fruits of your hard-earned tax money. |

Also there needs to be some mention of malodorant artillery munitions in this thread. Quote: Malodorants. These are safe chemical compounds that, due to their characteristic smell, are highly repulsive to personnel. Because the effect is primarily psychological, the response to the stimulus cannot be predicted with accuracy. Temporary in nature, malodorants have little collateral effects.
also (cocks)Quote: Studies have shown cultural and ethnic variability in the degree to which any particular malodorant is objectionable. Further study might be required to find a substance that is universally repulsive. Some success has been found by creating a cocktail of biological odors, such as human waste and vomit.
I think Yankees fans would not be susceptible to malodorant weapons, because the Yankees suck.

so its basically a stinky bullet/missile/whatever? only way i can see that that would help is it would make the other person stop and wonder what the hell is going on and then you can shoot them with real bullets while theyre confused. |

When I am vomiting (see also "when any Dutilly is vomiting") I find myself entirely focused on one thing: vomiting. (And also making girly wailing sounds.) Therefore if I had a vomit-enducing smell fired at me, I'd probably be out of it for a couple hours. |

Yeah, I've read up on these. They're designed as either artillery or air dropped munitions that scatter over a large area. Can be used either as a temporary disabler of infantry or more probably as just an area denial system (think of a minefield. When deployed in large quantities in a small area mines aren't really there to kill anyone because it's too easy to recognize a large number of them covering a small area. Instead it's just a way of saying "I don't want you to move through here, and if you try you're going to die". Same concept just that it's more temporary and doesn't require the cleanup).

It's Saturday now, I've already finished the CoH Single player campaign, and I bored, so I'll give add more to the forums: Got sprayed with OC (pepper) spray on Thursday for this course. That sucks. A lot. I feel lots of pity for anyone who's had to go through that before. Word of warning: If a cop ever pulls his pepper spray on you stop doing whatever u'r doing that's pissing him off immediately and give up. It's a whole lot better then the next 24 hours of suffering you go through if you get sprayed. So I'm at a non-lethal weapons training course for the army and getting to check out all their new shit they're testing out and trying to field. Happy? They did video tape the whole and though I still couldn't open my eyes when they were showing the video, I hear that my performance was more then a little humorous. At the end of the course (Friday) we're suppose to get a copy of the video so I'll see if I can get it posted here for all to laugh at. To add to the fun we're also suppose to get tased sometime next week too...hopeing to get video of that also. |

did they have you test the 'gay bomb'? that is far more scary and off-putting stuff than any malodorant. the official story is that it's no longer being developed, but who knows what shameful secrets lurk in the black ops community. |

Quote: To load a bomb aboard a bat, technicians attached the case to the loose skin on the bat's chest by a surgical clip and a piece of string. Groups of 180 were released from a cardboard container that opened automatically in midair at about 1,000 feet, after which, says the CWS history, "bats were supposed to fly into hiding in dwelling and other structures, gnaw through the string, and leave the bombs behind."
Quote: On May 21, 1943, five drops with bats outfitted with dummy bombs were made from a B-25 flying at 5,000 feet. The tests were not successful; most of the bats, not fully recovered from hibernation, did not fly and died on impact. .
