Malodorants. These are safe chemical compounds that, due to their characteristic smell, are highly repulsive to personnel. Because the effect is primarily psychological, the response to the stimulus cannot be predicted with accuracy. Temporary in nature, malodorants have little collateral effects.

Studies have shown cultural and ethnic variability in the degree to which any particular malodorant is objectionable. Further study might be required to find a substance that is universally repulsive. Some success has been found by creating a cocktail of biological odors, such as human waste and vomit.

so its basically a stinky bullet/missile/whatever? only way i can see that that would help is it would make the other person stop and wonder what the hell is going on and then you can shoot them with real bullets while theyre confused.

So I was chastized last night by Sabs for being a little bitch and never visiting the forums or posting here. Well....I don't have an excuse. I've got waaay too much time at work and nothing to fill it with that I certainly should be. But here's my random post anyway:

So I'm at a non-lethal weapons training course for the army and getting to check out all their new shit they're testing out and trying to field. So today I got to stand in front of a what is essentially a big microwave the sends out a focused beam that instantly heats up all the water molecules in your skin and makes you feel like you're boiling alive. Fucking cool ass shit!

Then we got to check out a new sound-denial system they have. It's really just about a 1.5 ft. diameter disc but works like a bigass speaker. Sends out REALLY loud annoying noise. You can actually feel the sound pressure within a good 100 yards of it and it'll throw off your equilibrium within about 200 yards. They tell us that it's capable of sending out sound waves of low enough frequency that it'll cause people to crap their pants (remember the south park 'brown noise' episode? Yeah, that shits real) or even stop someones heart. Also fucking cool as hell!

We got to check out some other vehicle disabling things and a couple other toys (tasers and such) but those 2 are the really cool ones.

To load a bomb aboard a bat, technicians attached the case to the loose skin on the bat's chest by a surgical clip and a piece of string. Groups of 180 were released from a cardboard container that opened automatically in midair at about 1,000 feet, after which, says the CWS history, "bats were supposed to fly into hiding in dwelling and other structures, gnaw through the string, and leave the bombs behind."

On May 21, 1943, five drops with bats outfitted with dummy bombs were made from a B-25 flying at 5,000 feet. The tests were not successful; most of the bats, not fully recovered from hibernation, did not fly and died on impact. .
