Gotten my ass whipped 9 times while online.

If you've got recommendations I'd love them.

Yeah, can anyone even give me some basic openings here that people use? I've already finished the single player and with crappy ass internet can't do multiplayer, so I'm limited to just skirmishes against the computer. I do okay, but not great by any means and trying to avoid a bit of the learning curve would be nice.

I don't have the full game yet but the rumorz on the internet (also keep in mind I am genitically a korean so I should be good at this game) is that Airborne fucking rocks. Forget armor upgrades, be airborne.

Airborne is wicked shit because of the off map howitzer barrages and the 800 manpower reinforcements you can call in.

Dragon, if you want to jack up your munitions and fuel, be sure to build an observation post atop any point you capture.

In addition to make them harder for the enemy to capture, they give you a 40% boost to whatever resource they provide.

Play against an expert AI in skirmish mode.

Record the match after you get your ass handed to you and then learn from that.

Remember, if you just build a bunch of tanks, they'll just build a lot of rocket troopers.

well i finally bought the right version. been playing through the single player campaign. i think the problems i was having with the munitions and fuel was just the skirmish map that you get in the demo. its really small so there arent many munitions and fuel points to capture. so even if i put observation posts on them i still didnt get much at all.

If you mix your shermans with a crocodile, you're in pretty good shape.

also snipers (cocks).

How do you do online play? Do you connect to a generalized server or is it connecting to someone's machine?

Author:  Hogg [ Mon Sep 25, 2006 2:40 pm ]
Post subject:

1) One person hosts.
2) It displays that person in a centralized server list.
3) Other players get the host information from the centralized server list and click "Join this game."
4) Those players are told they "Could not connect to all players" and have to sacrifice another goat to Relic and hope they are allowed to join the next game they try.

I recommend playing with Sabs and SuperSock; they're getting decent at it and it's fun to play 3v3 with them against some other fags.

I tried to aim the birds during my only free time yesterday (between 8:23 and 8:29) and when it froze I hit many buttons, and then birds chirped at me, and the my computer chirped at me, and then it crashed.

Sabs and I are learning!

Here's a breakdown of what my drug-addled brain remembers (legal drugs, be cool stay in school):

Engineers are great AND cheap, send them out to capture critical points right away.

The more Engineers you have, the faster they can build stuff.

Early in the game I use Engies to box myself almost totally into a critical point using (from outside to inside) tank traps (for tanks, NO SHIT? no shit.) barbwire (for groundpounders) and sandbags, so my I.D. have some cover.

That keeps Charlie, Zulu, and Grant (ya, fuck Grant!) out early and slows them the hell down later (although nothing really stops Arti or Howy fire).
A person could continue to fortify by adding AT guns and snipers (for counter-sniping) later. That provides a cheap alternative that's very effective in a point race.

Sabs builds Barracks first.
I build whatever that upgraded version is first (gives you machine gunners, mortor men, snipers) and then takeover a building in my control point to use as a field barracks.

Sabs is better at video games, so he's probably right in this case, but I've got to do my own thing because I'm a goddammed hero.

Hm. Whatelse?

I loved BACON's use of the sniper as a spotter for arti in enemy territory.
Wicked evil, wicked effective.

Allies are great, Krauts are a pain in the ass. Good balance, I just hate reading in fake semi-german Liebowski.

When building support, get 1 mortar team for every 2 machine guns. They do wonders in taking out guys that aren't quite in range yet.

i wish i had held onto that middle victory point better. if i had theni could have built howitzers there and hit almost anything on the map without using resources for the artillery strike.
