I am a child of the 80's and 90's. I've been taught that all things
political are far away, and their reach does not come anywhere near my
neighborhood. Higher Taxes? Lower Interest Rates? Welfare Reform? Subsidies?
Show me how it affects me directly, and I'll show you my care face. There
WILL be mismanagement. There WILL be lies. There WILL be cheats and scum.
There WILL be mistakes made. Get used to it, its called life.
People who say "I love you" to everyone, including the Mail Man. I love you
is one of the most intimate phrases you can vocalize, and to use it like a
throw away pregnancy test is to callus the meaning behind words. You do not
love me, if you do not know me. You cannot love a person you have just met,
or know socially. There must be some sort of investment by both parties, for
love to occur. Familiar love is entirely different, and that's not the stuff
I'm talking about. I am only directing this tirade at the half-wits who
throw around Love-you-mean-it's like fake beads on Bourbon Street.
Kids who dress a certain style, and then get annoyed at all the "poseurs"
who are dressing their style. You claim to be original and legit through
some sketchy proof indicating your pioneerment of a certain dress. Get over
yourself; uniqueness is a mindset, not a style of clothing. You are either
individually individual, or you are just like everyone else. Either way, you
are still part of a classification that you are unable to escape. Stop
fighting the inevitable tide that you can't out swim, and resign yourself to
real life. Its really not so bad, wearing clothes that are not epileptic
outcasts shat from Dr. Teeth's wardrobe.
Artsy folk who dress in muted colors and wear fancy shoes. These people are
usually found at indie book readings, wine tastings and local theatre. They
reek of money, and usually have more then they know what to do with, hence
spending incredible amounts on things like Mini Coopers and french drinking
water. Their utopia is the Europification of America, and they are trying as
hard as their delicate ideas will allow them, to make this a reality. They
are the folks that call in to PBS telethons and attend democratic
fundraisers. They are essentially well-groomed, well-dressed,
well-bankrolled beatniks. Do not be fooled by their fiscal stature, they are
just as infertile and useless as the hippie.
