Does 1meg of l2 cache x2 make it that much faster?

Speaking of new computer stuffs, I'm getting a new HD within the next few days. I'm going to do a clean install of everything, so hopefully The Static will go away. I guess this is mostly addressed to people who get angry at me, like Smith/Hapy/King and such...
