...and I gotta say, not impressed. I know I'm literally 5 years behind on this, but how is it I get my legally purchased copy of legal music that I legally obtained so as to provide more heroin to the emofag who sang it onto my mp3 player (not iPod)? I really disliek men stfu purchasing those plastic discs full of crap and one song I like, but damn, drm is fucking gay. |

uhhhh buttplug? Lolz. Turns out the super-secret encrypted wma file just goes right onto my mp3 player (we'll call this phenomenon "Morno's Razor"). Although I still wish there was a way to use not-WMP to play the song on my comp. |

I've also encountered this stuff. I got an audio book that can be - played from their program - put on my mp3 player - burned to CDs What I can't do with it is - split it into segments less than five hours long - make it into mp3 files so I can use one CD instead of 40 - NOT use CoolEdit to record and re-encode it, then post it on torrent sites, because fuck that shit right in the ass |

If you can burn it to a CD, why not just burn and rerip? Maybe make an iso so you don't have to waste a disk? |

Virtual drives won't work (you can't really do it in their program, and the only alternative cd-burning program is iTunes, which makes it hard to get a virtual drive to work). And like I said, it'd be like forty CDs, so fuck that. Plus, it'd still be in five-hour segments, which is stupid anyway. I'd still have to edit them. This way I just have to set it recording when I go to bed. Point is: if you can hear it, you can end up with it in your own easily-pirated format some way or another. They can make it hard, which just pisses off the customers, but they can't make it impossible. I wish they'd realize this, and also burn in blackest hell. |

At least Fox was nice about it when they busted me downloading X-Men 3. They just sent me a nasty gram asking me to cease and dissist. |

Dude fuck them. Piracy is the greatest thing to happen to the entertainment industry since the entertainment industry. People need to learn that they can't put out half-assed trend fuck shit movies and me blow my 7.50 on that shit. Artists need to try harder to actually make good music, instead of shipping something out once a year to to get a quick buck. And these middle man motherfuckers need to get robbed since they're not bringing anything to the table anyways. Like this, I download a movie that's coming out on DVD. If I like it well enough, and if they take some time to put decent special features, and those nifty slip covers, I'll go buy that shit. Wtf, like I just wanna throw Blockbuster some extra money because I feel like they deserve it, hell no. They need to set up a donation system for every video game/movie/CD that comes out that makes it possible for a person who downloads shit most of the time to donate directly to the person who actually makes this shit. Your dollar is a direct fucking vote, and I think voting's retarded, but it's different to pay some developer $20 who busted their ass making some kick ass game than to pay fucking EB or Wal-Mart 60 bones so fucking them and EA can get their split, while the devs get pennies on the dollar. All so they can live fatter and pay for a bunch of bullshit, like top dollar models at E3 booths, that I don't even see. Then they pump out a bunch of 15 hour play time bullshit console ripoffs. It's like I would never, ever, ever, ever see a fucking Tom Cruise movie, ever. But someone like Peter Molyneux or (God forbid) Valve puts out a game and you know that shit's worth your hard earned money. They need to work harder for our consumer dollar, so fuck 'em. ...in addition, loins. I know that's probably tl;dr. Sorry I got carried away. |

but srsly. il just steal and steal until the distributors die, then bands can just put shit up on their own little myspace pages, and if I like them, I'll contact them about buying a CD. Or give them some money, just like I do for good freeware. |

lawl at the comment on that news post: Quote: What a crock of bullshit! What's next? Are they gonna start going after jukeboxes next? "Yeah, you played E-4 in the jukebox, so you need to pay us the royalties for it". And they wonder why CD sales are down! I guarantee that once legitimate US based internet radio goes silent this weekend, if they think music piracy's bad now, they ain't seen NOTHING yet!! I guarantee that illegal downloading are gonna go thru the roof. Good luck to them trying to stop it- it'll be like the Dutch boy who stuck his finger in the lesbian only to see water start gushing out of holes elsewhere.
