Hey dudes

Way way back, before counter strike I played a sweet little game called Tribes 2. It is without a doubt one of the best games ever.

Anyway, Vivendi just shut down the master authentication servers and released the game for free so now everybody can have an account and play!

Just go here and grab the game plus the patch and you're in business.

At the moment the master server list is not working so you need to put in a server's ip directly, ask me and I can pull up a big list of IPs.


So you've never played and why should you?

Well, all maps are CTF style but most of them are really big.

You pick from light, medium and heavy armor and you get a loadout of guns plus a backpack which gives you special abilities (a lot like dystopia).

The big thing that makes this different from a lot of games is that you get a jetpack which you can use to fly around and "ski" which basically lets you slide up and down hillsides to gain speed.

Also each team's base is powered by generators which you can blow up to sabotage them. The generators power turrets, lights and most importantly loadout stations which you can use to heal and change equipment. All of these things can also be blown up.

I'll probably be playing this a lot because it is one of my all time favorites and I havnt played it in years.

The only thing i remember about this game is Ultros crashing transports into heavys and standing on the edge of a map with a sniper rifle and radar jammers

Yeah, I played the shit out of this game back when it first came out too. On my 133mHz Pentium 2. That was a sweet computer. The game was sweet as hell back then too, but like all broken relationships it brings up too many painful memories.

Sadly I actually found the origional CD + retail case for this game a couple weeks ago. Yes, that's right, I have the origionals. Suck it. Suck it long, and suck it hard.
