After some thought and drinking tonight, I came up with Hogg's Four Laws of Being Great At Left 4 Dead:

1) Don't fucking split up, ever.
2) Always protect your teammates.
3) Don't panic.
4) Don't fucking split up, ever.

There's some levity there, but those are actually the rules I live by when I play L4D. Do those, and also be good at aiming quickly and being aware of your surroundings, and you will be nearly as awesome as I am.
