Holy giant patch. Thanks for the heads-up, I was hoping to give the chopper another go tonight. I'll start downloading now and hopefully it'll be done when I get home from work.

Fast link at FilePlanet: http://www.fileplanet.com/217662/downlo ... 602574-R10

Looks like they've fixed the bullet tracers, so I shouldn't have issues with the tank and bradley anymore. Looking forward to more maps...

No prob.

In other news, we now have release dates for the Map Pack and the Vietnam DLC. Tomorrow and December 21st, respectively.

wait... it just prepares the game for the map pack? if we get another giant patch when the maps are actually out, I'm gonna laugh. that would mean their patches just install newer versions of bloated files, instead of modifying the existing files with the new content.

The consensus Rob and I came to was that the Vietnam DLC and the new maps were in this last update, they just have yet to unlock them yet.

Makes sense.

So does transvestite midget porn (there have to be horney tranvestite midgets somewhere), but that still doesn't make it right.

i agree. In this case, "fucking crazy" is both good and bad at the same time.

just saw some kind of specact bullshittery upgrade of downloadable content for BC2. Looking at it it seems to be $6 to choose a between a couple of different uniforms for BC2, but I'll let someone else look into it and confirm.

2 more nights of bullshit southern redneck internetz. Granted, won't be online yet on tuesday night, but will be home. Probably set up computers on wed, catch me onlinez then! Hurray for Iowa, and the fact that it doesn't suck as much as other places like missouri!

It's dumb don't buy it.

I bought it because I thought I had to in order to get the "all bronze stars" achievement. But come to find out I didn't. And now i have like 12 more shiny things to get in order to get 100% because of this bullshit upgrade.

but..... if you have two wildly different loadouts that you like to use for a single class, then the specact upgrade is actually worth the 6 bucks because you can setup one loadout as normal, and the other a specact.

Longer answer:

If you buy a game retail, you can activate that game through Steam (Games >> Activate a Product on Steam) and make that game a part of your library. After you do that, you'll be able to get the DLC for it digitally.

Did a bit more research on this.

It looks like the answers is no. HOWEVER, that gigantic fucking patch we all got a few days ago -was- the Vietnam DLC. Purchasing the DLC, in this case, is actually just purchasing a redeemable code that unlocks the software, and you can buy that shit in the EA Store.
