I completely expect them to drop 99% of the support BC2 gets on the PC when BF3 comes out. Of course, 99% of 0 is still 0 :<.

What we heard: Digital Battle's article is based on a .pdf file with a features list for the unannounced Battlefield 3. The site said the file appeared to be intended for Electronic Arts investors, who supposedly should receive it by December. More than 20 bullet points paint a picture of the next full installment in EA's multiplayer military first-person shooter series, starting with its expected release date in late 2008.

According to the article, the game will be set in the modern day (like Battlefield 2), with an emphasis on Middle Eastern settings and support for up to 40 players per team on eight different maps. For the numbers crazy, each of Battlefield 3's two factions will have access to its own assortment of 24 different vehicles and 17 different weapons. The game will also supposedly feature unlockable equipment, customizable characters, and in-game replay functionality.

While the article says the game won't launch until the end of next year, gamers might get a crack at a possible public beta in the summer. However, the leaked info suggests the game will only be released for Windows Vista PCs and the Mac's OS X, with Windows XP users left out in the cold. An announcement for the game--along with a teaser trailer--are pegged by the article as coming in January.

my favorite part about bc2 is the total lack of flyboi fags. There are NO FLYABLE JETS. repeat: NO FLYABLE JETS. this is the bf2 we always wanted. Vehicles and NO FLYABLE JETS. I don't even think there are attack helicopters. Just big blackcawks.

I assume bf3 will have jets. I will definitely not be purchasing it.

I plan on making a decision at the end of the weekend. The collecters edition is $50 through steam and includes like 6 extra unlocks, but I believe that's only available till the 15th of March. After that maybe steam sale, but also probably lose out on the unlocks (if anyone who has purchased can give more insight on that please do).

Development of BF3 was confirmed by the COO back in June, along with the fact that it wouldn't be released in that fiscal year (which ends this month). I'd expect it in Nov at the soonest, possibly toward the end of next fiscal year.

Played a minor session with Dime and Hogg. It was fast, wonderfully overwhelming, and exciting. 5/5. When EA gets around to fixing all the minor stuff it'll be a jewel. Download punkbuster update manually, get it out of the way.

Wife just grabbed me a gift card to Bestbuy for my b-day. Will swing past there and pick it up tomorrow. It better be good or I'm staking someone. Came up with that idea earlier today. I REALLY want to stake someone to the ground, just for the sheer experience of doing it. All spread eagle, and then use the huge tent stakes that take a mallet to drive in through the arms and legs...probably one to either side of the head to stablize it, and then one through the stomache just to stop the constant writhing.
