you have to sign into steam if you are going to register because it is only for previous CSS owners

or search the steam store for Counter-strike Source Beta if you are too lazy to sign into the web page but have steam already up

they added marginally smoother netcode, dual core support, shiny things, and a future. that's enough for me. They're also fixing some glitches.

True, it is still a 10 year old game. Of course, that's both the problem and the excuse. It's a testiment to the quality it was (in that it's still mildly enjoyable to play), but I have many other more entertaining ways to waste my time now (in 2010).

it's still the only FPS we can reliably stack 4+ dudes on the same team. I forgot how easy it was to do such a thing until last night. Top that.

True. I also appreciate the consequences of death (sit out rest of round, makes people mildly cautious of running into constant crossfire), and the shortened round length thereby resetting/stopping the ass-whooping train every couple of minutes and giving the losing side a chance to regroup.

A new counterstrike has good potential, it just needs lots of trees for me to blow up.

lol. beta is closed. Not sure anyone wants to even install CSS. But you could buy yourself BC2 and/or L4d2. We play one or the other at least a few times a week still.


Do you even have steam? I don't see you even in our crapy clawn group. When was the last time you fucking played with us? 2005?
