yea, whatever, i beat the shit out of alpha centauri twice upon a time. Never desired to play another Sid Meier game again. it was probably on easy, but the map was on the biggest setting! |

I would... but... I'm kind of going to be playing some FFXIV and dicking around with that in my spare time. Probably also some Minecraft after trying it since it's been free while the server is down. CIV V will come eventually I'm sure though. Brandon |

Gosh, this Civ V sure is fun. It'd be cool if more people would come play with me n hogg. I mean... unless you're scared. p.s. Multiplayer game can be saved a resumed later so saying "waah I dont wanna play a long marathon game" is no excuse. |

Ok so I stood there for 3-4 hours at my stand up desk playing the demon for its100 turns. Impressions... Big improvements over previous versions. It makes sure you use your turn to the fullest. Graphics are indeed sexy. Sacking Rome was as satisfying as I expected. and if i had more turns id still be playing now, pre-empting Germany's inevitable betrayal. But I still feel dirty when I'm done playing. Like there is zero lasting value to it and id be better off sweeping the floor. But this is a personal thing and it's why I don't play anything but squad games since years. If civ was 20 id buy it but I don't want to spend the time playing it to make 50 worth it. |

yea i know it's really tempting because of that but i'm afraid i'll play it all the time by myself when you guys aren't around like a cocaine habit gone bad. And it's just not as visceral as shooting people in the face. That's more subconscious for me which is nice after spending all day thinking hard with my conscious brain. Is there a unofficial free trial out yet? I could totally get behind that. |

ok dudes, we seriously need to schedule a 1 day Civ 5 battle royal. Ultros and I played today and it was quite awesome. After his inevitable betrayal he was unable to take over my island with his minutemen/cannon army. My swordsmen (yeah sowrds>guns) cut them down no problem and then my superior navy killed all the troops that we still in the water. Civ 5 rocks. |

Why don't we all just play Risk instead? It's cheaper because everyone in existence already has a copy. Also it is equally boring as hell and time consuming. Dibs on yellow, though. |
