be interesting to see if they can cut as big a slice out of the market as android did, given their late start. I assume they'll have some sort of app marketplace too? |

Word on the street is that WinPhone 6.5 = Vista quality while WinPhone 7 = awesome. Yes there is an app market. Dunno how many good apps there will be.

well as long as they give the devs some love and good dev tools, which MS is generally really good at, the market will blossom. Android started really slow but soon became seemingly exponential. |

The SDK is already out and to stimulate the app market they're giving all MS employees a free phone + waiving app store reg fee + waiving MS moonlighting policy.

I guess I'm the last guy on the planet who wants his phone to do less. Hell, most days I don't even want a phone at all. Unless they add a fellatio feature. |

So they have caught up with Google? Also I assume the only reason Google maps doesn't look that good is because this won't work that good on a normal internet non-pre-cached presentation. |

dunno, i haven't used bing maps. it's probably only for certain areas, and may not even be live yet. but i'm happy to see such a big player not turning to complete mush. Direct competition between Apple, Google, and Microsoft is VERY good for us all. shit spilled my drink |

in case you haven't heard, task killers are popular but it's not the memory use that's the problem, it's the CPU usage or network usage of badly designed apps. don't kill stuff randomly just because it's using memory. details here: http://lifehacker.com/5650894/android-t ... t-use-them |
