Decided to check steam for new deals, looks like they're doing day-long sales on select games.

Today (monday) is all the red-faction series at 75% off (about $5 a game), runs through 10am PST on tuesday. Not a huge fan myself, but maybe for others and hopeing for other goodness later in the week.

as a side note: i keep seeing commercials for the new "Force Unleashed 2" game...did anyone play the first? Any good? Built for PC or console?

TEAKS!!!!

Nope, haven't played it. It'd be nice if video games were like electronics and reviewers got them before the release date so we could get a better impression ahead of the release date (where there are usually decent sales).

Mediocre to bad gameplay, ran like shit on PC. Definitely built for console.

They do, the review releases are just embargoed so mediocre games don't lose first-week sales/pre-orders. Sometimes the embargo is also based on the review score, e.g. you can release your review if it's a Metacritic 85+.

doesnt matter if it's pirates, giant robots, or angry chickens, it'd still be a solid game.

Or you could just realize that all your friends love it and play it regularly, and you'd rather play any game with them then your choice of games with the random douchetards that infest the internets. Especially at $10-15.

the *very* little time I have for games is taken up 100% by BF2, which I bought to play with my friends (and brothers). I bought TF2 when it was $2 dollars, and played it twice. I fear this would be the same :/

UGH, and when are they EVER going to get over making those ridiculous military-themed games? SO passé.

military = real

the end.
Spawning on squad leader
repairing tank with power drill
deploying parachute after 1 story drop
deploying parachute multiple times while jumping from building to building
defibbing people like all the time
use a defibrillator to heal a gunshot wound to the head
capturing flags on the battlefield
houses/buildings with no furniture

yes please continue telling me about the realism

You can probably get custom skins to put the zombies in BDUs.

Lol.Smith. you bought bc2 to "play with your friends" after ignoring them for 2 years because the pixels of their favorite game were not arranged to your liking.

it doesn't matter anyway. When's your kid due? Few months? alright. See you in 18 years.

well, I checked.

you could dress them all up as clowns.

but it seems no one has made military-sim skin yet. however, there are custom skins to put the hunter in a hello kitty hoodie, and the boomer in a santa outfit or a thong.

No kidding, I used a Gabe Newell skin for the boomers in L4D1. I didn't know what boomers really looked like until the sequel came out.
