http://steamcommunity.com/tradingcards/ Kinda weird and will probably be mostly pointless, but they do say you can earn coupons to be used on Steam games. Since it sounds like the cards are earned by your amount of playtime alone on games like CS:GO, might be worth trying to get in joining the group here: http://steamcommunity.com/groups/tradingcards/ |

what's the catch? seems like a way to mine your information for something insidious, like targeted marketing. |

The catch is that you have to spend money on in-game items to get more card drops. The coupons generally suck (lower % off than normal sales) and won't stack with sales.
