5v5 counter-strike hostage mode kinda game. Looks like they've added in some interesting elements such as barricading, c4, and destruction. Hopefully they keep out the audio clutter and retain the 1-2 shot kills like in Ghost Recon and other R6 games. I expect it to be a little sloppy like others in the series. But if the gameplay is good it'd be nice to play something a little more tactical and team based, and less reliant on aim & reflexes.

why does no one give a shit about the tom clancy phantoms game that's free to play, but you guys care about this?

Is it Rainbow Six better than Ghost Recon? Or you hate 10v10 and luurve 5v5?

i mean generally i hate Free to Play because it turns into pay to keep up, but haven't played phantoms enough to run into that.

1) it's kinda old at this point
2) reviews weren't great
3) F2P

All of the F2P games I've played are unpolished and running an outdated or overly simplistic engine. They often wind up having crappy communities because half of the players at any given moment are brand new. Add in the steep learning curve of the series and the vast majority of players aren't people you want on your team if you know what you're doing.

Phantoms also sounds like it has some pay-to-win from the reviews. I think the way CS GO was monetized (beyond purchase price) is perfect. Visual changes that don't affect gameplay.

I will definitely wait on reviews for Siege. I just think it has more promise - there's no talk of F2P, and since Ubisoft is putting forth the effort of creating a new game engine for it, they're probably putting more work into the game as a whole.

To be frank, you're probably better off just reinstalling SWAT 4.

Video looks very cool. I loved the original Rainbow Six (1&2) and the splinter cell games. Unfortunately (with the exception of RS2) the multiplayer has been non-existent, behind the times, or only good for co-op. I agree with waiting on reviews, but love the idea of a more strategy based/less reflex CS.

I'm reviving old threads. Any news on this one? Has it been sold to a new studio that will immediately publish a steaming turd to make a quick buck yet?

eh.....still time for change, but the lure of 13-year-olds and their massive stacks of cash is strong with this one...
