I didn't think it was as good as the first one, I'm gonna be Debby Downer for a sec:

1) It was less "zombie" more "infection"
2) I hate shaky up close cameras
3) They played that song from the first one too much
4) The pacing was weird and the ending came too soon

Aside from that yeah I really liked it too, towards the end of the movie I was like "Wow fuck America..." And the daughter/sister chick was cute (Jailbait probably though).

Well I will have to disagree on some accounts except..the camera angles make the fight/suspense scenes more scary and crazy.
and about the infection/zombie thing....the whole point of the two movies is that there were no zombies. The reason for re-animation is that the rage virus is the problem. Everyone thinks that 28 days/weeks later are zombie movies. That is why the zombie...or whatever you wanna call them only bite the humans and not really eat them.



What do you mean about the pacing being wierd?

King of Poop, I agree. It rocked. The shaky cam is used to enhance the "terror." I will say though that the opening was so fucking good that the rest of the movie just couldn't live up to it. I still liked it alot.

The camera angles thing is just an opinion but I've always felt like that's lazy. I'd rather see what's going on than see a bunch of shaky shit and assume some crazy shit's happening. And I'm not talking about like hand held camera type stuff, more like when they'd just show a close up of a zombie wigging out. The other thing was in the first one you could tell the infected were all soulless and just wanted to kill shit, they looked like zombies. This one they gave that main guy too much free will or some shit. Like in the scene with his wife, it was more like he was just pissed off. And for the pacing thing my beef was if you have main characters and they die you should linger on that, like the dad in the first one, that shit was sad.

With the army dude they did a good job, but with the chick it was kind of an afterthought that she got killed, also the guy bashed her head in with a rifle, which wouldn't have happened in 28 days later, and that was it, they should have made that scene stand out more.

But they should have made the climax to the movie more pronounced I think. But I honestly did like it, I thought the DP did a great job with the lighting like in the scene where they're running through the street and it's all dark, it really looked dark, they didn't add a bunch of fake ass light so you could see every detail.

All in all though, 7/10 with the first one being a 9/10

I was so excited for the scene where he is pushing the car....in the preview its such a heartbreaking scene....and they just changed it to a stupid flamethrower....I almost couldn't enjoy the rest of the film....and I think the last army chick should have lived. The kids needed someone to take care of them.


oh and the whole dad killing mom thing. I almost took that scene as if the mom was a half breed so the zombies hated her, also I can understand the rifle butt killing more in this movie since the zombies seem more like monsters that zombies, but I still don't like the idea of the zombies being able to think.

Did anyone who has seen the movie notice what was with the final scene? The fucking zombie were running toward Paris. I know there is no way a 3rd 28 days later is a good idea but i still want one...
