i never said I didn't like to watch the longhorns kick ass, but I seek to maintain that my illogical affection is limited to one that actually makes more sense than most: my alma mater.

notice how little cheering i did when the spurs won the nat championship.
and i'm never seen an ice bats game.
and if the cowboys stage a comeback, i will be ambivalent.

Why? Because i'm not a watcher. I don't like watching shit. I don't like watching TV, movies are far from my favorite form of entertainment. I can't stand televised news. I don't like vege'ing out. so why the hell would I want to watch sports?

I respect athletes, but I'd rather PLAY golf than watch it, i'd rather remember playing football than watch random team X try to beat random team Y. Shit, i'd shoot some packets at random guy Z on the internets than watch anything on TV. At least i'm moving, interacting. Causing things.

Now, actually attending a sporting event holds a higher level than watching one on TV. You're no longer an arm-chair quarterback, wholly worthless to the team and wholly disconnected from the actual sport. At the event, at least the athletes can hear you, and you're interacting with the other hyped fans around you.
