Yeah, http://store.steampowered.com/freeportal/

Now there's absolutely no excuse for anyone not to have enjoyed the genius of that game.

I just enjoyed the crap out of it and beat it in 2 days. Very cool game, and one I was surprised to discover that I really enjoyed (like L4D2).

You're welcome. If I may humbly suggest, maybe next time don't wait five years to play a game that we all unanimously laud as a triumph of entertainment and comic genius.

I am both guilty and humbled.

kinda hated it
the voice overs are literally computer generated, but are supposed to be human voices

and the jokes, if they were even intended as jokes, are just bad, as in the scientists proposition you for sex in the first 30 seconds of play.

Less than 2 test rooms later, one of them comments in a whispered voice how much he likes your ass, and the other reminds him that the mic is on.

also, the puzzles i did in the first two test rooms were stupid, relying on twitch portal shots and accurate jumping to pass.

I don't remember much about it, just that the puzzles were more difficult than Portal's (which I guess isn't saying much given that Portal lasts me 1-1.5 hrs tops :/)

What's so good about the engine upgrade to CSS?
This section needs updating.
  • The Orange Box engine includes multiple upgrades from the EP1 engine that CS:S currently runs on. This ranges from a much improved netcode, meaning better hit registration, and multiple graphics fixes including multi-core CPU support.

FUUUUCK

Will I be able to use or play with my demos with the new engine?
  • No. Demos taken on older versions of the engine won't run on the new engine. However, you can preserve your old demos by recording them to video files. This can be done either by using Fraps, or the in-built Source Recorder (handy guide on using the Source Recorder).

Gabe broke demo playback with every other update back when CS:S was still receiving semi-regular patches and patches to the patches. It was amusing when a team got disputed and no one could play back the demos.

Last I checked (last L4D/2 free weekend?), netcode was still garbage and multi-core rendering was buggy :/. I wonder if they fixed the animation and hitbox issues in that "multiple graphics fixes".

I know! :( I have been busy nesting. And trying to finish my #(*%&)(@#*&%(#*&% thesis. My wife is the only thing keeping me from throwing everything in a pile and lighting it on fire.

I is confused. Does this include a gathering of feathers, fuzzy bits, and small twigs all being formed into a small, roughly circular shape for you to rest in overnight, or is there a deeper meaning here that somehow doesn't come across as "I have permently abandoned you all for a woman"?
